It looked like a flaming orange, yellow and black ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/976\/cpsprodpb\/F8C9\/production\/_106398636_mediaitem106398635.jpg.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/science-environment-47873592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Source<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ok-but-how-does-it-relate-to-salesforce\">OK, but how does it relate to Salesforce???<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry, I don&#8217;t want to delve into the details about the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Black_hole_information_paradox\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blackhole information paradox<\/a>. To make a long story short, it highlights two seemingly contradictory features of black holes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From Einstein <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/General_relativity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">general theory of relativity<\/a>, everything that falls into a black hole is lost and never comes back<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>De <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/No-hiding_theorem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">quantum mechanics<\/a>, information should never disappear&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>Starting to see my point about Salesforce?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>You&#8217;re sending a lot of data into Salesforce, but it never comes back!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The root causes of this problem is that times have changed forever:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your prospects and customers have access to <em><strong>unlimited sources of information<\/strong> <\/em>about your company, your products, your competitors&#8230;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marketing and Sales should more than ever be aligned and collaborate seamlessly in a <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Smarketing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SMarketing<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>approach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Pre-sales process<\/strong><\/em> involves more and more people across departments: Legal, Operations, Marketing&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But how to effectively collaborate across departments when your CRM creates a sealed border between your sales team and the rest of your organization?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Salesforce attempt to mitigate this issue&#8230; Chatter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>Chatter just utterly failed<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Chatter is asynchronous<\/strong> <\/em>just like emails and does not bring real-time conversation needed to match the current speed of business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Chatter is difficult to use<\/strong> <\/em>across devices and the Salesforce1 mobile app UX is utterly cluttered<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Chatter is complex<\/strong><\/em> to collaborate with people outside the sales team, resulting in difficulties to align teams collaboration across the organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em><strong>Chatter lacks integrations<\/strong><\/em>.
